Single-Session Therapy

Sometimes, you don’t need ongoing therapy—you just need a place to talk through what’s happening right now. Single-session therapy offers focused mental health support for a specific concern, challenge, decision, or situation. In one dedicated session, you and your therapist can address what’s weighing on you, identify what may be helpful, and develop practical strategies or next steps that you can take with you. This approach is rooted in trauma-informed therapy, ensuring that you feel safe and understood throughout the process. There’s no expectation that you need to commit to ongoing counselling. The session is designed to be beneficial on its own, while leaving the door open if you decide you would benefit from additional support.

You May Be Seeking Support Because…

You might be navigating a difficult decision, feeling overwhelmed by a particular situation, experiencing conflict in a relationship, or simply needing a safe and confidential space for mental health support as you sort through your thoughts.

Single-session therapy can also be beneficial when you:

- Need support around a specific challenge

- Want a fresh perspective on something

- Have an important decision ahead of you

- Want practical strategies for managing difficult thoughts or emotions

- Would like to experience trauma-informed therapy without committing to ongoing sessions.

What Can We Accomplish in One Session?

A single session isn’t about solving everything at once. Instead, the focus is on identifying what would be most helpful to you right now, particularly in the realm of mental health support. We will work with you to understand what brought you in and what you hope to take away from your time together. Depending on your needs, you may explore a new perspective, identify patterns, and develop coping strategies through trauma-informed therapy, clarify a decision, or leave with practical next steps. Even one meaningful conversation can create greater clarity and help you feel more equipped to move forward.

Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.
