ADHD Support for Teens & Adults: 8-Session Framework

What is it?

At Wayfinder Counselling, we provide structured, short-term ADHD therapy as part of our comprehensive mental health support services, aimed at enhancing daily functioning for both teens and adults. This focused eight-session psychotherapy program offers practical support, clear direction, and meaningful progress in a way that won't overwhelm you. Each session builds intentionally on the last, guiding you from confusion and frustration toward clarity and confidence, all while incorporating trauma-informed therapy principles.

Session fee: $170 per session.

Stage 1: Clarity & Mapping

Before changing anything, we focus on understanding. In the first phase, we identify where things tend to break down — whether that’s starting tasks, managing transitions, handling overwhelm, or maintaining organization. Through our mental health support, we explore what’s currently working, what isn’t, and where the biggest friction points show up in daily life. The goal of this stage, enhanced by our psychotherapy services, is to create a clear, compassionate map of your ADHD patterns so we know exactly where to focus. Our approach is rooted in trauma-informed therapy, ensuring that we address your unique experiences with care.

Stage 2: Stabilization & Practical Supports

Once we have clarity, we begin building targeted mental health support — one step at a time. This stage focuses on reducing daily strain, strengthening follow-through, and improving emotional regulation through our psychotherapy services. We develop practical systems that are realistic, sustainable, and designed to work even on low-motivation days. The emphasis is not on doing more, but on reducing friction so daily functioning feels more manageable and consistent, aligning with our trauma-informed therapy approach.

Stage 3: Consolidation & Next Steps

In the final stage, we step back and review our progress in the context of the mental health support we’ve provided. We assess what’s working, what may need adjustment, and how to maintain gains over time. This includes evaluating our psychotherapy services and ensuring they align with the needs of our clients. We also clarify longer-term goals and create a plan for moving forward with confidence. The aim isn’t perfection — it’s lasting clarity, stronger self-trust, and trauma-informed therapy systems that continue to support teens and adults well beyond the eight sessions.
